V40 Virtue Fidelis was built by Stebbins of Burnham in 1951. She was originally names Festival Vertue and shown at the South Bank Exhibition (sports area) of the 1951 Festival of Britain.
After the Festival of Britain she was renamed Virtue Fidelis and sold to a Major Glanfield with whom she remained until passing to her current owner a Mr Kemp, based in Cornwall.
I was recently informed by Jon Dunsdon, the owner of V213 Hippo, that Virtue Fidelis is kept near Hippo in Plymouth on the Tamar River.
Here she is more recently, in 2009, sailing in Plymouth Sound.
