V213 Hippo was built in 1999 as a home build by Paul Dare.  Her construction is West System wood/epoxy composite.  Paul Dare then sailed many miles in her: apparently Hippo has made 8 single-handed transatlantic crossings.

In 2009, Jon Dunsdon purchased Hippo, and he now keeps her in Plymouth on the Tamar River, not far from V40 Virtue Fidelis , which is kept nearby.
